Musical Director


Alex Morris completed a Bachelor of Music (Composition) at the University of Western Australia in 2009 and has been active professionally in orchestras and other arts companies for a number of years. He recently completed a contract as Concert and Workshop Coordinator with Orchestra Victoria. Alex is Music Director of Vocal Evolution taking them to consecutive Barbershop Harmony Australia (BHA) gold medals in 2009 and 2011.  An active quartet singer, he sang with Nexus in Perth for 7 years and is currently singing with The Mellow Diners from Melbourne. Since moving to Melbourne, Alex has taken on the role of Music Director with Geelong Harmony Chorus (Sweet Adelines Australia) and currently holds the positions of Chairman of the Australasian Guild of Barbershop Judges, BHA Music VP and is a member of the Sweet Adelines Australia Regional Education Faculty. In 2013, Alex became the only non-North American certified Barbershop Harmony Society Music Judge. A sought after arranger, Alex is regularly commissioned to write new arrangements and sells his work to ensembles around the world. He has a passion for education and loves nothing more than to share the joy of singing and his love of this art form wherever he has the pleasure of visiting.
